Rocky the raptor here, RPost’s cybersecurity product evangelist. I thought we’d have some cybersecurity fun today and play a little game of “This or That”. Meaning, I will present two options, and you pick which you prefer, this one or that one.
This or That:
Offensive vs. Defensive (security)
While you need defensive security, offensive security will make your defense better. Offense is eliminating the ability for cybercriminals to successfully conduct their reconnaissance outside of your endpoints.
If recon goes unfettered, it would provide cybercriminals insights about who is communicating with whom about what when; information they can use to build a more juiced-up, hyper-contextual, hyper-sophisticated attack.
The best defense is a strong offense; Sun Tzu, George Washington, Rocky the raptor 😉 and many famous sports coaches and military commanders danced around this phrase.
Seen vs. Unseen (risk)
Seeing cybercriminals outside your endpoints interacting with your content inside your third party (e.g., suppliers, business partner, professional advisor) devices is obviously better than not seeing.
Rocky again here. What I bring with my RAPTOR™ AI is the ability to see what you cannot see today. Raptors, as everyone knows, are the family of birds of prey with the keenest eyesight (with my brethren eagles, falcons, hawks including sea hawks/osprey).
Today, with the most sophisticated cybersecurity applications, companies can see anomalous activity (cybercriminal) once inside their networks; however, they cannot see cybercriminal activity outside of one’s endpoints building the attack before the attack.
With RAPTOR AI, one can see this unseen outside the endpoint unexpected activity to then be informed enough to mitigate risks. The unseen? What you don't see can (and will) hurt you.
Leaked vs. Un-Leaked (sensitive data)
Leaks happen, from human error, insider threat actors, or cybercriminal attacks. It’s far better to be able to (of course) agentically (that is, using AI Agents) un-leak information that has leaked, rather than let one’s sensitive information fester out in the wild.
RPost’s Double DLP™ AI can automatically Un-Leak leaks™ even when the leak is happening outside of your endpoints (on content permitted to be able to be sent to an indented external recipient but is not supposed to be seen by unexpected people).
Double DLP AI is obviously better than single DLP filters, which only acts as a block of information at your endpoint and does not deal with permissible sent information that later leaks. Preventing data loss keeps your intellectual property, brand reputation, and customer trust intact while recovery from a breach is slow, costly, and incomplete.
Cyber Attribution vs. Cyber Anonymity (of threat actor)
Being able to automatically attribute a cyber risk or attack to a cybercriminal cabal is power as it provides insights into what the threat actor is attempting to do, so one can better prepare to get ahead of the risk.
Cybercriminals of course prefer anonymity. They don’t want you to know what they are up to and who is involved.
Attribution is better than Anonymity. Identifying who’s targeting you enables tailored defenses, legal recourse, and threat-specific deterrence, whereas staying in the dark invites repeat attacks.
Again, not only does RAPTOR AI see the unseen, un-leak leaks, but it also curates related forensic data and then provides hypothesis as to which cybercriminal cabals are involved and what their end game is. This is getting ahead of risk, for sure.
PRE-Crime vs. POST-Crime (cybersecurity approach)
It all comes down to this. Preemptive cybersecurity as an approach (PRE-Crime, killing the risk before there is risk) is far better than reactive cybersecurity (POST-Crime, dealing with the aftermath of the attack after there is damage).
Today’s reality, however, is you MUST have PRE-Crime, and you must also be able to be nimble to deal with the aftermath if there ultimately is an issue. PRE-Crime™ stops cyberattacks before they happen, which reduces cost, damage, and downtime far more effectively than solely relying on POST-Crime -- cleaning up after the breach.
What do I, Rocky the raptor, bring to the table. My RAPTOR AI cybersecurity lets you go on the OFFENSE, and SEE THE UNSEEN, UN-LEAK LEAKS, ATTRIBUTE THREATS to threat actors, all designed to ultimately PRE-EMPT cybercrimes. RAPTOR AI is packaged in RPost’s PRE-Crime solution.
Everyone needs a RAPTOR 😉.
